As a New Windsor Real Estate agent, I pride myself in being one of the top agents in the business. Agents depend on recommendations from family and friends to grow their business, so it is imperative that my clients are treated in a most professional way possible. Which is why it is always difficult to hear of horror stories from clients regarding their past experiences with real estate agents they have used in the past. So when should you be concerned that your real estate agent isn’t doing their job? Here are some signs that should make you wary:
1. Not responding. Does your agent take a long time to respond to your phone calls? Are they simply not available or out of touch? If you don’t hear from your agent in a timely manner, or if they leave to go on vacation without telling you, this is a sign of concern.
2. Part-time: Some agents work part time and many are very capable. However, if they also work another full time job on top of working as a part-time agent, then chances are, your home may not be their first priority. If you need to sell your home fast, look for a New Windsor Real Estate agent who will put your needs first.
3. No experience: Many buyers seek their real estate agents for advice. There has yet to be a buyer or seller who will not ask their agent for information and their opinion. When you hire an agent that has zero experience, they usually can’t offer much in the way of advice. While every agent needs to start someplace, make sure they have a strong team behind them to help answer any questions you may have.
4. Past Complaints: Make sure you rely on recommendations from your family and friends. Hiring a real estate agent that is not highly regarded, or has complaints lodged against them, then look elsewhere. Many will promise to charge you a lower commission for your business. But remember, you get what you pay for. If selling your home is a huge priority to you, based on financial matters, relocation or job change, then you need an agent that will work with you in a highly ethical and professional manner.
In today’s market, it is necessary that you feel comfortable with your New Windsor real estate agent. Hire that agent that will go the extra mile for you.
